The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) announced to the public they have officially decided to remove all 100 Venezuelan bolivar fuertes from circulation on December 12.
Does this sound familiar? Last month the Prime Minister of India removed all 500 and 1,000 rupees from circulation to stop counterfeit currency and corruption, also known as black money.
President Maduro said it was needed to combat contraband of the bills at the volatile Colombia-Venezuela border. Here is a preview of the new banknotes that will begin circulating in Venezuela on December 15.
